Larrivaux

OUR WINES

Between heritage
and pleasure.

At Larrivaux, the watchword is ‘pleasure’, and each bottle is an invitation to savour life’s precious moments.

An enthusiast like you will not remain indifferent to the charm of our wines! Red wine takes priority, although a white wine vintage will soon be available…

Two names, one standard

In the heart of the Médoc region, Château Larrivaux has been producing wines of character and elegance since 1580.

Alongside it, Château Le Borderon and L’X de Larrivaux continue this tradition with boldness and indulgence. Larrivaux embodies the historic soul of the estate. Borderon, an emblematic locality at the end of the plane tree-lined avenue leading to the vat room, evokes the vineyard’s architectural origins.

Finally, L’X de Larrivaux is a more contemporary creation: a graphic name, born from the contraction of the first and last letters of ‘Larrivaux’. The richness of our Larrivaux wines is matched only by the deliciousness of our L’X and Borderon wines.

Blended wines,
a unique signature.

Our wines are the result of subtle blends, dominated by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The proportions vary according to the vintage, to reveal the best of each year.
Whether they are distinguished like a Larrivaux, charming like a Borderon or indulgent like an X, our wines all share the same passion: to enhance every moment.

You will always find an occasion or an excuse to open one of our bottles. You cannot imagine what an honour it is for us to be invited to your table.

Where wine takes the time to become itself

In the cool silence of our cellars, the wine enters a new chapter in its story, one of patience, wood and transformation. Surrounded by thick stone walls, the barrels rest, lined up like promises waiting to be fulfilled. The wood breathes, the wine soaks it up. Every day, imperceptibly, the substance evolves, becomes more nuanced, more refined.

This is where it all begins: the grapes arrive still bursting with sunshine, before beginning their slow metamorphosis. Fermentation, pumping over, gentleness and precision… The process is technical, but always guided by instinct and observation.
Everything is alive, vibrant.

The wine cellar

We kept the framework and walls, but everything else was redesigned to enhance the grapes that had been nurtured for a year in the vineyard. We took great care in choosing materials to significantly reduce our energy impact.

The ageing cellar

Our commitment to the environment led us to choose natural cork to insulate the ceiling, as well as a fresh air renewal system.
